The house is conveniently located at 2323 CR 870 less than 30 minutes west of I65, Exit 305. Centrally located on the the mid eastern part of Lake Smith in the Sulfur Springs area of Crane Hill. The Island Retreat is a great place for families to gather for vacation and recreation. The spacious upper deck and lower patio offers a beautiful view of the lake and island! Bedroom 1 (MBR): Queen bed with private bath. Bedroom 2: Queen and twin bed with semi-private bath. Bedroom 3: Queen and twin bed. Bedroom 4: Queen and twin bed. Bedroom 3 and 4 on upper level share a full bath. Bedroom 5: Queen bed. Lower level recreation area with full bath next to bedroom. TV served by Direct TV. AT&T and Verizon reception is good. No internet service is provided. The boat dock has swim deck with ladders and diving platform. No boat slip is available; however, guest may secure their boat at either side of the dock. Two one man kayaks are available for use. Personal flotation devices and boat paddles are kept in the house recreation area. Guest are encouraged to bring their own personal flotation device. Swim towels are not provided. Respectively, please don't bother owners boat or jet ski!! A community boat ramp (no dock) is available. Contact owner for additional information regarding access. Refer to the house book for additional information. Three TV's are in the house located in the MBR, living room, and recreation area. On the main level is the MBR with a full bath, second bedroom, and bathroom. The main level bath has a large stand alone shower and is accessed either from living room or second bedroom. The main level deck is accessible from both bedrooms and the living room. The deck has a variety of seating as well as a covered patio table and propane grill. The upper level has two bedrooms and a full bath. In the lower level is the recreation area, a bedroom, and full bath. There is a DVD player connected to the TV and a variety of movies is available. A ping pong table and a variety of games is also found in the recreation area. Each bathroom is stocked with towels. However, guest will need to provide their own swim/beach towels. In addition to standard appliances, the kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave oven, coffee pots (12 cup drip and Keurig), electric griddle, and toaster.

The boat house is the maximum size allowed on Smith Lake (custom, two story, deep water boat house)! The upper level features a sunning deck and an air conditioned cooling room. The lower level features a large swim deck and two slips roomy enough to house two boats or a boat and two personal watercraft. The custom craftsmanship of this house is obvious upon entrance. The interior of the house is beautifully decorated with timeless, neutral colors. The house features four bedrooms, four full baths, large walk in closets, a fully equipped custom kitchen, open floor plan with family, dining and sitting area, office/library/sitting area upstairs, and an enclosed porch leading to an elevated deck boasting an outdoor fireplace. The cabin was built in June 2019. It is located on crooked creek in crane hill. The cabin feature a bedroom with queen size bed and loft upstair with twin size bed & futon sofa, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer, there are three TVs (one in the bedroom, living room, and upstair). The living room couch also makes queen size bed. The cabin is cozy rustic design. Sleep up to 7 people. Also, boat ramp and dock on site. There are two adults size kayak, a kid size kayak and a canoe for guest to enjoy. 15 minutes from ext. 305 in Cullman. There are post office, gas station and dollar general store within a mile. Walmart and Publix grocery store is 25 minutes away in Cullman. Please let me know if you are bringing a boat. You can launch and keep the boat at the cabin dock. We are on seasonal water. Firefly Lake House on the Crooked Creek part of Smith Lake is the perfect family retreat! Two bedrooms and one bath are on the main level, and one bedroom and one bath is on the daylight basement level. Each bedroom has one queen size bed. There is also a twin bed in the basement bedroom and an additional full mattress available if needed. The daylight basement provides convenience when coming in from the lake and a lot of fun with the ping pong table in a large hang-out space. The upstairs loft provides a nice getaway for games and movie watching (login to smart TV). The privacy of the home and location on the lake are unmatched. There are no homes across the water and hardly any neighbors. We provide two kayaks, one canoe and a large swim mat for hours of family fun. The fishing is good too (bring poles)! The water around our dock is about 15 ft deep this time of year (March-August), near the shore it is only about 2-3 ft deep, perfect if you have little ones that want to play in shallow water and don't mind the mud. During your stay If you need a break from lake life historic down town Cullman is 20 minutes away and offers many activities to enjoy from antique shopping, fine dining restaurants, a farmers market, brewery & casual dinning choices with live entertainment. The guest house has a private entrance & on site parking. It is not possible to enter the main house or guest house internally between either home. Your welcome to bring a wagon or golf cart to help transport your lake gear up & down to the dock. The entire property/land is for your enjoyment including the back yard, shoreline, hammock, path swing, fire pit and dock. Your privacy is very important & will be respected. The property is very peaceful due to the fact it has two empty wooded lots on either side of the house providing a 400ft buffer between the closest neighbors in any direction. Throughout the year the homeowners may be in residence & have two standard poodles Lily & Beaux. If you have any needs they can be reached by a call or text. Please note the property is in a very rural area you and you will see and hear many different kind of birds, cows, chickens, goats. You will drive on twisting, winding, hilly country roads. Walk a natural path to & from the shoreline. The WiFi & cell service is iffy in the Smith Lake area. ATT provides the best cell service in the area. Your gps will cut out while you are out on the boat or driving by car. Tip: It’s a good idea to print off direction to the property for when your out on the lake in case your cell phones gps goes out. The lake has 500 miles of shore line & its easy to get lost. When driving your vehicle to the property consider printing off your directions from interstate 65 to the property due to the fact your gps will be spotty & it will drive you past the property’s mailbox & home. You wouldn’t know you missed the property until it doesn’t get you to Crooked Creek Retreat. It’s imperative to know that Lewis Smith Lakes water level changes seasonally & can be tracked on a smith lake app. When booking any rental on this lake it’s important to note Smith Lake has three different kinds of water front property descriptions. Deep water, year round water & seasonable water. Each offers different experiences with different perks. Traditionally Crooked Creek Retreat dock is floating March through August. You can swim, float, boat, fish, jet ski from the dock during this time. The water around the shoreline and dock are very calm & safe for swimming, floating, paddle boarding & kayaking. Guest are welcome to tie up their boat & jet skis on the east side of the dock. Owners keep their ski boat on the lift. They use the west side of the dock for their fishing boat & jet ski. Beach chairs are perfect to sit at the shoreline to watch little ones play in the shallow water. Arrow Head bar & grill is a kayak ride away. Order in or carry out breakfast lunch or dinner on the weekends. FYI: Seafood boils is great on the weekends! During the fall & winter months Crooked Creeks Retreat dock is not floating. During the fall/winter months weather permitting you can walk out to the channel & drop in the kayak, enjoy fishing & go for long walks along the shoreline. Some time between January-March Alabama Power will raise the lake level. During this time you might get not be able to walk out to the dock but you will be able to kayak out the dock. The closest public boat launch is a 5 minute boat ride away at Arrow Head Park Park. Smith Lake Park public boat launch is about twenty minute car ride away.
